Welcome to Chicagoland Mesh (ChiMesh)

Chicagoland Mesh (ChiMesh) is a community for people interested in MeshCore, Meshtastic, Reticulum, LoRa, and other mesh networking technologies in the Chicago area and beyond. Whether you are completely new to mesh networking or have previous experience, everyone is welcome to join.

Our server is a place to learn, share ideas, ask questions, and connect with others who are interested in decentralized communications. Many of our members enjoy experimenting with LoRa devices, building mesh networks, testing new software and hardware, and finding creative ways to stay connected without relying entirely on traditional internet infrastructure.

We have discussions covering a wide range of topics, including Meshcore deployment and usage, Meshtastic setup and troubleshooting, Reticulum networking, antennas, node placement, hardware recommendations, emergency communications, and general radio related topics. If you are looking for help getting your first node online, improving coverage, or learning how these technologies work, there are plenty of people here who are happy to help.

One of the goals of ChiMesh is to help grow and create decentralized mesh networks throughout the Chicagoland area. Members share coverage maps, deployment ideas, local projects, and tips for improving network performance. We also encourage collaboration and experimentation so everyone can learn from each other's experiences.
